Although it looks like a beautiful, still afternoon in the pictures, it certainly was NOT! There were 30 - 40 MPH winds, sustained winds of 25-30 and pouring rain, even though the sky was clear overhead, the rain was being blown past the clouds, which set the stage for this rainbow, and for crazy photographers to get soaked taking pictures of it. It is barely visible, but there was a second complete rainbow above, and both were brighter in real life.
