Western Trip 2014 - Heading Out - August 22-24

August 22 the whole family piled into the van early in the morning, and we started heading westward.

I am hoping to add more posts of the various section of our trip, so be on the look out. I'll try to keep it in chronological order as well to make it easier to follow our route.

We all liked the first bit of Kansas, with the rolling hills and the mix of open prairie and lush river bottoms.

This part was a very hilly section, towards the middle of the state, and gives no idea of the excessive flatness,
however it shows very nicely how straight the roads were on the way out.

Even the bugs seemed bigger and louder out there . . .

Probably can't guess what this is . . .

I will be uploading more pictures and adding more blog posts later on, probably one for every stage of the trip.
