Church Activity: Men's Hike - Part I

I mentioned in a previous post that on Sunday afternoon our pastor invited all the men of the church on a hike in Pine Hill Park, to a view where you can see our church building.
We had a splendid hike despite scattered rain showers, and had a whole afternoon of encouraging fellowship and prayer. Here are some of the photographs I took, in two parts.

There is a nice view of our church building from where the group is standing.

Moving on again.

David sizing up the tree . . .

. . . and climbing it . . .

. . . and coming back down. The wooden platform was so rotten
that David decided to stay off of it

I was standing on the trail when I took this picture, now, 15 feet down the hill is the same trail going the opposite direction, after turning 30 yards further on. It was a little frustrating to have to follow the trail instead of taking shortcuts. We did go a lot farther than otherwise, that is for sure.

Here is the turn I was talking about.

A ways farther on here is another turn!

Trading jokes while Mr. Burch, our pastor, looks at the map.

This is our church building. I had to zoom in 22-24 times to really get it.

Dad saying we probably see people wave down at the church.

Here is another shot of it not quite so zoomed in.

You can just barely see it in this one. It just shows up as a tallish white dot.
