Fort Ticonderoga: The barracks and the Cobbler

Inside A Barracks Room:

Once when there were 1,000 men in the fort, three men had to fit on each level!

How the table in the barracks was held together. The point was to use as few nails as possible,
because in olden times nails were very expensive.

Spun-glass windows. Each window in the fort had a few of these panes.

                                     The Cobbler:

Working on a pair of Common shoes.

Explaining types of shoes and the rarity of laced boots.

Note: There would not originally have been a cobbler in the fort.
